A Festive Season Message from VHPAA
A Festive Season Message from VHPAA

As the Christmas and festive season approaches, the Vocational Mental Health Practitioners Association of Australia extends warm wishes to all those who celebrate this time of year.

For many, the festive season brings moments of connection, reflection, celebration and joy as time is spent with family, friends and community. We hope these moments are meaningful, restorative, and filled with care.

At the same time, we acknowledge that for others this period can feel heavy. Grief, loneliness, financial stress, strained relationships, or the weight of what has been lost or changed can make the season difficult to navigate. If this year you’re not “feeling it,” please know that you are not alone and there is nothing wrong with meeting this season in your own way.

Wherever you find yourself, we encourage kindness toward others and toward yourself. Take breaks when you need them. Reach out for support if things feel overwhelming. Stay connected in ways that feel safe and manageable for you.

As a community, let’s hold space for joy and for struggle, recognising that both can exist side by side.

From all of us at VMHPAA, we wish you safety, care, and wellbeing over the festive season, however you experience it.

If you or someone you care about needs support, help is available, and reaching out can make a difference...
