AAMHP has experienced significant growth over the past year, strengthening its role as a national voice for vocationally trained mental health practitioners. A major focus has been advocating for fair and practical National Standards for Counsellors and Psychotherapists, ensuring quality and public safety while recognising the experience and contribution of vocational practitioners.
Looking ahead, AAMHP is expanding its support through Pathways to Practice programs, Legacy Supervision, practical webinars, and professional development opportunities, including its first national conference, Stronger Together - Peer Support 2027. These initiatives reflect the association’s commitment to advocacy, professional growth, mentoring, connection, and creating sustainable pathways for vocational practitioners across Australia.
