The ICHS 2026 Pre-Conference Workshop, “Integrative Pathways: Designing Dual Coaching–Counselling Frameworks for Broader Client Support,” offers a rare opportunity to explore the intersection many of us already navigate in practice - the space between therapeutic repair and forward-focused growth.


Facilitated by Shane Warren, Pauline Treghini and Susan Sandy - leaders across VMHPAA, the Association for Coaching and Nexus College - this immersive day is designed for practitioners working at the edge of counselling, coaching, supervision and organisational wellbeing. It speaks directly to a reality vocational mental health practitioners know well: clients don’t move in neat categories. They stabilise, they grow, they relapse, they stretch and we need frameworks that allow us to move ethically and intentionally with them.


The workshop introduces a practical three-phase integrative pathway (Containment & Repair → Meaning & Motivation → Action & Accountability), grounded in resilience psychology and Hope Theory. Participants will explore:
