About the event
Peer-to-Peer Briefing: Why VMHPAA Members Should Consider Attending
As vocational mental health practitioners, understanding the intersection of identity, trauma, and systemic barriers is vital to effective and inclusive care. The Domestic and Family Violence in LGBTQA+ Communities Forum (9 October 2025, Wests Leagues Club Campbelltown) brings together frontline experts, lived-experience advocates, and community members to unpack the unique dynamics of DFV in queer relationships.
Hosted by Macarthur Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service in partnership with ACON Pride Training, this event explores how sexuality, gender diversity, and stigma intersect with experiences of violence, and how practitioners can provide more informed, affirming, and culturally safe responses.
For VMHPAA members, it’s an opportunity to strengthen practice through real-world insights, connect with other professionals across the DFV and community health sectors, and engage in open conversations about inclusion, safety, and healing. Morning tea and lunch are provided — what’s shared in the room will stay with you long…
