World Health Day: Health Means Mind and Body
World Health Day: Health Means Mind and Body

On World Health Day, the Vocational Mental Health Practitioners Association of Australia (VMHPAA) reminds Australians that health is not only physical it is also mental, emotional, and social.

While physical wellbeing often takes centre stage, mental health is equally essential to living a balanced and fulfilling life. Stress, anxiety, burnout, and emotional strain can impact overall health just as significantly as physical conditions.

VMHPAA Chair Shane Warren said:

“We cannot separate mental health from physical health. They are deeply interconnected. Looking after our emotional wellbeing strengthens resilience, relationships, and long-term health outcomes.”

World Health Day is an opportunity to pause and check in to prioritise rest, connection, movement, reflection, and support when needed.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, reaching out is a sign of strength.

Remember, health means caring for the whole person.
