Professional boundaries are essential to safe and ethical practice but boundaries can sometimes be misunderstood.

A boundary is not a wall. It is not about becoming distant, cold or overly clinical. Nor is it about following a rigid set of rules that leaves little room for genuine human connection.

The challenge for practitioners is learning how to maintain warmth, empathy and authenticity while still protecting the therapeutic relationship. This workshop explores the grey areas of professional boundaries and asks an important question: how do we remain genuinely human with our clients without becoming personally involved?

Participants will explore common boundary dilemmas, examine their own responses to boundary challenges and develop practical strategies for maintaining appropriate professional relationships.
