Hosted by Wandi Nerida, Australia’s residential eating disorder recovery centre operated by the Butterfly Foundation, this free evening session brings together GPs, psychiatrists, PHN representatives, researchers and mental health professionals to clarify referral pathways and treatment options.
For VMHPAA members, particularly those in private practice, youth services, family counselling, or community mental health, access to clear referral knowledge is essential. Eating disorders often present indirectly — through anxiety, trauma, relationship distress, or comorbid mental health concerns — and knowing where residential or specialist support sits within the system strengthens ethical and timely client care.
