About the event
Peer-to-peer encouragement for VMHPAA members
For VMHPAA members, this looks like a strong professional development opportunity for anyone supporting adults through the often-complex transitions of midlife and older age. The summit is built around practical clinical application rather than broad theory alone, with sessions spanning ageism and mental health, cultural humility across generations, interpersonal psychotherapy for life transitions, integrative mental health strategies, brain health, pain, purpose, menopause, gray divorce, emotion regulation, and empty nest adjustment.
What makes this event particularly useful is the breadth of issues covered in one place. Many of our members work with clients facing layered experiences of loss, role change, caregiving stress, health concerns, loneliness, shifting identity, and questions of meaning. This program appears designed to help practitioners respond with greater confidence and nuance, drawing on approaches such as CBT, ACT, meaning-centred work, somatic tools, and age-affirmative practice.
