About the event
Peer-to-Peer Encouragement: Why VMHPAA Members Should Consider Attending
The Lived Places Publishing Conference offers a thoughtful and interdisciplinary space to explore how place, belonging, identity and lived experience shape wellbeing, mental health, and social outcomes. Bringing together researchers, practitioners, community voices and creatives, the conference focuses on the human experience of environments — physical, cultural, digital and relational.
For VMHPAA members, this event is especially relevant if your work engages with community mental health, lived experience, recovery-oriented practice, social connection, or place-based approaches to care. The conference encourages dialogue across disciplines, valuing narrative, reflection and lived expertise alongside academic insight, a strong alignment with vocational mental health practice.
Rather than centring only on clinical techniques, the Lived Places Conference invites participants to think more deeply about context: how environments support or undermine wellbeing, how stories shape identity, and how practitioners can work more effectively with people where they live, work and belong.
