Peer-to-peer encouragement for VMHPAA members
The 2026 Mental Health Matters Awards, hosted by WayAhead Mental Health Association NSW, will be held on Friday 25 September 2026 at the Four Seasons Hotel Sydney.
For VMHPAA members, this is much more than an awards ceremony. It is an opportunity to spend an afternoon alongside practitioners, community organisations, advocates, policy leaders and people with lived experience who are shaping mental health and wellbeing across NSW.
The breadth of the awards is particularly relevant to our membership. Categories recognise work in youth mental health and early intervention, community initiatives, First Nations social and emotional wellbeing, mental health promotion, leadership through lived experience, workplace psychosocial safety, media and the arts, and LGBTIQA+ inclusion. Together they provide a useful snapshot of where innovation, community leadership and emerging priorities are developing across the sector.
