Today, the Vocational Mental Health Practitioners Association of Australia (VMHPAA) proudly celebrates World Teachers’ Day - a moment to recognise the teachers, trainers, and educators who dedicate their lives to shaping minds, nurturing growth, and inspiring hope.
Teachers are more than conveyors of knowledge; they are mentors, role models, and often the first to recognise when a young person needs support. Their work sits at the intersection of education and wellbeing fostering curiosity, resilience, and confidence in future generations.
“Teachers build the foundations of both learning and belonging,” said Shane Warren, Chair of VMHPAA. “They guide us not only through the curriculum but through life’s challenges offering empathy, encouragement, and belief in our potential. Their role in supporting mental wellbeing cannot be overstated.”
VMHPAA acknowledges that educators themselves need strong support networks and access to wellbeing resources. As we thank our teachers, we also reaffirm the importance of caring for those who care for others ensuring that the teaching profession remains a space where purpose and passion can thrive without burnout.
This World Teachers’ Day, we say thank you to all who teach, mentor, and inspire - your work changes lives every single day.
