About the event
Peer-to-Peer Encouragement: Why Every VMHPAA Member Should Attend
Stronger Together 2026 is more than a conference, it is a milestone moment for vocational mental health practice in Australia.
As VMHPAA’s first-ever national conference, this gathering represents the coming together of practitioners who have long carried frontline mental health support in communities across the country. Support workers, counsellors, peer practitioners, recovery coaches, supervisors, educators - this is our professional home, and this is our moment.
The conference is designed to reflect the realities of vocational mental health practice: community-based care, lived experience leadership, trauma-informed work, supervision standards, ethical practice, and sustainable practitioner wellbeing. It creates space not just for learning but for recognition, visibility, and collective voice.
For many of us, vocational practitioners have historically been under-recognised in national conversations about mental health reform. Stronger Together 2026 changes that narrative. It places our work, our standards, and our contribution firmly in the spotlight.
